NYC BABY FRIENDLY RESTAURANT GUIDE - UPPER EAST SIDE

We all have the same concern when it comes to going out to eat with our little ones.  It's an ordeal to dress them, pack the supplies, decide on stroller or a Snap N Go with Car Seat and then wander around your hood looking for a restaurant that has the right amount of noise, space to hide you in a corner, enough room up front for your stroller, perhaps a booth for your carseat...

Below are reviews of Upper East Side Restaurants that are Baby and Stroller Friendly, and will get you in and out fast if your babe has a melt down in the middle of your appetizers.  It's safe to assume these restaurants are also kid friendly for your toddler or just plain noisy elementary school set.

Baby and Stroller Friendly Restaurants are reviewed with the following criteria in mind:

     Room for Stroller at Table

High-Chairs Available

Steps/Stairs

Changing Station in Restroom

Barking Dog Luncheonette - (212) 861-3600 - 1453 YORK AVENUE (77TH & 78TH)

This local favorite upscale diner is great for both babies and dogs, especially in the summer time.  You can stroll right up and position your little one next to a table outside during warmer months.  Your Fido can sleep under the stroller while you enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast.  Two great choices on the menu for brunch are the cherry chocolate pancakes.  Good with a side of extra crispy bacon.  Or the spinach potato pancakes which come topped with benedict eggs, red caviar and creme fraise.  If you'd rather be indoors, don't bring the dog but don't worry about bringing baby...(view full profile)

Cinema Cafe - (212) 772-6400 - 1327 2ND AVENUE (70TH ST)

The Cinema Cafe on 2nd Avenue is really a great spot to bring a baby for lunch.  It is usually fairly quiet on the weekends around 1pm or so, and I've been able to bring the Bugaboo right in, get seated in a far corner and wheel my bassinet all the way to the table.  This is the ideal scenario, honestly...(view full profile

This delicious Upper East Side Big Daddy's location serves up juicy burgers, frosted shakes and classic tater tots to satisfy kids and parents alike.  There are plenty of high chairs and booster seats to go around.  Afternoon lunch crowds typically include recent maternity leave moms and their new bubs...(view full profile)

EJ's Luncheonette -  212-472-0600 - 1271 THIRD AVENUE (73RD STREET)

This favorite Upper East Side brunch spot is always packed, but does a good job being flexible with some room for strollers up front (around the front corner next to the lunch bar) and high chairs.  The aisles are tight, but you can also bring a car seat and wedge into a booth.  The steps out front are a slight obstacle...(view full profile
